The Journey Thru a Photographic Life

About Me

New-Image-1This is supposed to be about me. I always found that kind of pretentious and wonder if anyone really cares about the person behind the site or do they care about the site it self.

But, for those who do care, here is something about me.

I am not new to life. I am not new to what I do. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I coached aquatics for 27 years. I have been in photography for about seven years. At least in a serious way. I think that the digital camera and the ability to do post processing on a computer changed photography from a chemist/professional activity to something that every man can do and really excel at. Yet, I strive to do it better than the ordinary person.

I love teaching. There is something magical when you get an individual to understand something that they previously didn’t comprehend. The same with coaching. Watching a team come together and work as a unit toward a common goal is a real high.

I am no longer coaching, but am currently officiating the sport of water polo. Again, there is a challenge to the calling of a game in the correct way so that the outcome is fair and proper without influencing the game yourself.

I like the outdoors and nature. I like seeing and noticing what others can’t see or won’t take the effort to see. It takes a special effort to see nature and the wildlife that is out there for the viewing. Most people won’t make that effort. I am currently working on making that effort.

I want to take my photography to the next level. I want to become semi-professional. I am capable of making good images and I know others want take advantage of my skills. I just have to get out there and make it happen.

That is the purpose of this site; to document that journey and to let the world know what I am learning and thinking when it comes to photography. Provided that anyone cares enough to read it.

I hope you enjoy it.

Comment freely on anything you want to, I look forward to hearing your opinion.
